The TADA Crossroads Assistant project strives to increase road safety significantly, focusing on crossroad situations as well-known collision hotspots.
For this, the consortium implements a detailed model of the current traffic scenario containing all traffic participants, ranging from cars to pedestrians and bicycles, including their current position and their current movement vector (direction, speed, …).
This holistic view of the crossroad situation is matched with a large database of crossroads scenarios, gathered in German accident research, identifying potentially dangerous situations as base for risk-mitigating decision making in downstream systems.
